If you are like me in any shape or form, there is a good chance that you will lose or misplace a thumb drive at some point in your existence. Enter Dropbox. Dropbox is an awesome concept offering plenty of storage space for your stuff and miscellaneous files and folders. This is what I like to do: Set up a dropbox account on every PC that you presently use: your desktop, laptop, work computer and your I-phone as an I-phone free app if you have one. After your account is setup and you have installed the application, You are free to drag and drop the files and folders inbetween your computers without having to lug around an external hard drive with a bulky cord and/or thumb drive, although a thumb drive is nice to have if it is on your key chain for passwords and sensitive data.... especially those pictures of you on the Princess Cruise line with a lampshade on your head, but I digress....
HELPFUL HINT:
You can configure your folders any way you see fit. I personally have my folders with the following titles:
WORK I JUNK I PHOTOS I VIDEO I MUSIC I EXE I PERSONAL I SHARE I TODO I COMPLETE
Then you are ready to have an organized set of communication protocol rules to share files and folders between your PC's! For advanced and heavy users, you can purchase more storage space from http://www.dropbox.com. Dropbox is kind enough to give you 2GB as of the writing of this article absolutely free!!!
