Drug Addiction

What is drug addiction?

What is drug addiction?

The definition in medical terms is as follows: drug addiction is defined as the uncontrollable consumption of a substance regardless of the harmful consequences. Drug addiction refers to the act of using a drug or drugs in excessive amounts, or using it for a purpose in which the drug was not prescribed for. However, the sole dependence of a particular substance is not sufficient in describing an addiction. Primarily this is because of the few substances that do not cause addiction, but may cause serious dependence. Some of the most common drugs that are commonly known as addictive substances are: heroin, cocaine, alcohol, prescription pain medication, and meth. The recovery rate of drug addiction is less than 5%; however when Ibogaine and/or Ibogaine treatment is used, the chances for success exponentially improve.

Causes of drug addiction

It is known that if drug abuse goes unnoticed or untreated, it can lead to addiction or dependence. In some cases the addict may also begin using the drug in an attempt to seek refuge from physical pain or stressful social situations. Despite the countless studies that have been done on addiction, the exact reason or causes of drug addiction has yet to be determined.

More often than not, when medical professionals study patients who seek drug addiction treatment such as, cocaine treatment, heroin treatment, prescription drug treatment, or alcohol treatment, there are always shared characteristics amongst this subset. These characteristics may include a chemical imbalances, emotional distress or anxiety, peer pressure, and environmental stress.

Destruction of Drug Addiction

The alcoholic or the addict who indulges in substance abuse will suffer immensely; however, the family will suffer just as the addict will. Studies have proven that family members, or loved ones, will often times develop the same types of illness as the user.

Unfortunately, the children who are exposed to the addiction will suffer the most. Children in these types of situations will usually show higher risks of developing addiction later on in life. Drug Addicts who fail to seek out proper addiction treatment will inadvertently expose their loved ones to the undesirable consequences of addiction. These consequences consist of: disturbed physical and emotional health, and the inability to manage daily life. If you or a loved one is suffering from addiction, then you should research Ibogaine and/or Ibogaine Treatment.
