Dynamics GP Implementation Internationally or how to choose your multinational corporation Corporate ERP

When you are crossing USA borders (applicable to most of the English speaking countries, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, etc.), you are entering in the World of different cultures, including business related legislation. There is special term Corporate ERP localization, which includes such terms as supporting local language, and compliance to local country tax code and business legislation. Dynamics GP could be translated to the majority of World languages (with restriction to ASCII table compliance one byte, as Great Plains Dexterity doesn't support Unicode, meaning Chinese, Japanese, Korean languages, based on hieroglyphs have very limited support). But, compliance to the targeted country customs code and business legislation might be too challenging, and you probably don't want to undergo Dynamics GP customization just to make it local tax code compliant. Let's review Corporate ERP selection options, when you are expanding internationally:

1. China. Many experts believe that this is a rising star and the power to dominant in the future. Chinese language is hieroglyph based and requires Unicode (or UTF-8). Well the future is not known at this point, but we should say, that Dynamics GP 2010/11.0 doesn't support Chinese language out of the box and is not localized for Chinese Corporate MRP and Accounting market. If you are committed to Microsoft platform, please review Dynamics AX (former Axapta), or otherwise look at such small and mid-size business accounting packages as SAP Business One. Both are available for purchase in China and are localized

2. Arabic World. Here we see the situation, where local legislation compliance is not a big deal, what is required here is probably Arabic language support. And Dynamics GP Great Plains speaks Arabic. Great Plains Software penetrated to Arabic peninsula as well as to Northern Africa in mid 1990th and since then Great Plains Dynamics is available in such countries as Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Algeria

3. Brazil. It is very sad story. Our company was engaged by Microsoft Business Solutions in Sao Paulo to localize Great Plains version 7.5 for Brazilian Corporate ERP market back in 2005. However since then Microsoft changed its mind to re-emphasize Navision (Dynamics NAV) and later on Dynamics AX (Axapta). For the small and mid-size businesses, if you are looking for international Corporate ERP brand (and not such local very successful packages, as Microsiga), we recommend you to take a look at SAP Business One

4. Russian Federation. In Russia you should expect to face very complex business legislation, president Medvedev is trying to simplify it, but it is a long process. Feel free to contact us, as Andrew Karasev is Russian born and familiar with the issues you may encounter in Moscow

5. Mexico and Latin America (Spanish speaking, do not mix with Brazil, where they speak Brazilian Portuguese). Dynamics GP is localized for Mexico as well as for the majority of South and Central American countries, including the dominant ones, such as Chile, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Uruguay, Honduras, Dominican Republic

6. Poland. We are in the position to support several Great Plains Dynamics customers in Warsaw and across the Poland

7. Consolidated Financial Reporting. This is where you resolve international peculiarities and have all your subsidiaries in consolidated Balance Sheet or Profit and Loss reports. Traditionally the reporting tool was FRx Financial Reporting, but with the introduction of Microsoft Dynamics GP version 2010/11.0 we recommend you to look at Microsoft Management Reporter
