Each Kind of Hair Scissors Serves a Purpose
If you think that any kind of scissors would be good enough to cut off your hair
, think again.
In order to come up with a good hair style, you should not settle for any type of scissors that you could locate around your home. You cannot use a pair of kitchen scissors for trimming those unruly bangs, nor can't you use your mom's sewing scissors whenever you feel like getting a new hairdo. What you need is a pair of hair scissors which could cut through your hair smoothly.
However, hair scissors come in a variety of types, each intended for a particular purpose. So, it would be important to note the differences between these types.
One kind is referred to as thinning scissors. These are used in thinning out thick heads of hair. It does the thinning through its teeth, by which the texture is added to the hair. As such, this type could also be called as texturing scissors. Available in three different sizes, these scissors are especially designed to add texture to the hair. Each scissor size has a particular width between its teeth, and varying teeth count as well. These scissors are used in order to give a smooth finish to rough, badly sculpted hair types.
Aside from these, professional
hair scissors come in two types as well. These types are distinguished from one another through its blade style that is, either convex or bevel. These two different blade types attend to two different purposes, and you should be able to identify it, or else you will most likely get the wrong hair results. The bevel blade is applicable to layered or tapered cuts, while the convex blade is used for the standard hair cut and slide cutting.
It would be important to know which blade to use, or your hair would end up looking as if it had been badly chopped and gaped. Use the correct hair scissors and you're mostly assured to get the perfect cut.
Do not get so impulsive that you'd even use Dad's office scissors in cutting your precious hair strands.
