If you don't see a threaded screw opening, look for the bale at the top of the urn pendant and twist it counter clockwise with your fingers. Handle the bale gently to avoid damaging the threads. Remove the bale, and you can begin to fill the chamber.

Use a flat surface for your work area, and cover it with newspaper or plastic sheeting. Insert the funnel's stem into the ash pendant's opening, and place your keepsake in the mouth of the funnel. You may find it necessary to use a toothpick or straightened paper clip to guide the keepsake through the neck of the funnel and into the cremation jewelry's chamber.

Secure the Opening on Your Cremation Jewelry The threaded bale or threaded screw opening on your cremation jewelry is designed for security, but you can gain additional peace of mind by sealing the opening with non-water soluble glue. (If no glue was included with your cremation jewelry purchase, you can use Krazy Glue or any other permanent glue.) Simply apply a few drops of glue to the threads of the keepsake pendant and then replace the bale or threaded screw.
