There is no one healthy size. As long as you are working hard to stay physically fit and you are taking care of your body you will feel the benefits of being healthy.
After you have acknowledged that your body does not look like all of the bodies around you, make a personalized plan for healthiness. It may take some time to make this plan but it will be well worth it in the end.
You can use a body mass index chart to tell you what your ideal weight is. There are some critics of this chart but for most people it works extremely well.
After you have found your ideal weight you should post that weight somewhere that is visible. There are some people that find it is most beneficial to post that weight in the kitchen where the food is.
Some people think that the only people that struggle with weight are the people that are obese. This is a myth.
There are a lot of people that struggle with being too skinny. If you do not have enough fat in your body it can do a lot of damage.
When you are underweight your body goes into starvation mode. This means that instead of using the nutrients in your food properly the body will hold onto every molecule for dear life.
This unnecessary work can have many horrible side effects. Although many of our pop culture icons are too skinny, it is important that we set realistic goals for ourselves whether we are looking to gain weight or we are looking to lose it.
After you have found your ideal weight you should find the mode of eating that works best for you. For the majority of society it is the most healthy to be eating a small snack every few hours.
By eating only a small amount and eating it consistently you will be re-fueling your body instead of overwhelming your body with the calories and fat in your food. This re-fueling process is something that is important to understand.
You should be eating throughout the day, not just only when you are hungry. If you never let your body get to the point of being extremely hungry you will be much better off.
There are some people that just cannot find the time to be eating every few hours. This does not mean that they or you do not have the chance to be healthy.
If you cannot eat every few hours you should shoot for at least three meals a day. The traditional three meals a day seems to be a good rule of thumb for the minimum amount of food you should be eating.
It may be hard for you to eat when you are not hungry, but it will be much easier to not overeat when you are not hungry for food in the first place. You will find that you are better able to understand the concept of being full if you are only refueling your body every few hours.
When you overeat you are stretching out your stomach so that it is much harder for you to get full later. When you are not over eating you get full much quicker.
Take the time to understand your body and the eating habits that will work best for you. If this plan is not working for you there are many others out there that countless numbers of dieticians have recommended.
If you have the funding it may even be beneficial to visit a dietician in your area. If you are able to visit a dietician that can make a personalized meal plan for you that would be the most beneficial situation.
Whether you meet with a dietician or you start to figure out how you can eat healthier on your own you should notice a difference fairly quick. It may be hard at first but in the long run you will be much better off for it.
