Eating healthy is not about losing weight rather

, it is about getting the most out of the one life that you are given. Your body deserves the best, so why not give it the highest quality fuel that it deserves?

Many people go through life believing that they eat healthy because they buy foods that say "fat free", "sugar free", "omega 3", etc. However, these people fail to recognize the other ingredients of many of these foods; ingredients that counteract any good nutrient that might be present.

Reading nutrition labels and ingredients is becoming more and more important as manufacturers are trying to con consumers into continuing to buy their foods.

While you are on the right step by being conscious about what you eat, this is just not enough. There are numerous fad diets and nutrients popping up all over the place.


Falling for the latest fad will not increase your lifespan or improve your health. Going back to the old days and eating natural, unprocessed foods; however, will. As silly as it may sound, if you stay in the mindset of living on a farm, and only eating what you can grow or butcher, you will increase your lifespan and decrease your chance of contracting a deadly disease like diabetes (unless, of course, it is hereditary).

Sticking with this mentality means filling your body with vegetables, fruits, grains, and meats; all of which can be found naturally. This does not; however, mean that fruits and vegetables in a can will suffice because they will not. As soon as you take these natural foods and run them through a plant to be processed in bulk you are adding all of those deadly toxins and chemicals that we originally talked about. Trans-fat and high-fructose corn syrups are great examples.


Is it true that you should steer clear of these; yes. As soon as you take some peaches and run them through mass production for canning, what is one of the worst ingredients added; high-fructose corn syrup. In this particular case, wouldn't common sense tell you that you probably should not eat that? This is the same with all packaged / processed foods that you find lining the shelves at your local super market.

Here's a good rule of thumb if you are trying to improve your overall quality of life; if you do not know what is in it, do not eat it (if you can't pronounce it, it probably isn't good for you). Take on the farm-like mentality and you will begin to see a big difference in your life.

The more healthy foods you feed your body, the better your body will process the nutrients into proper forms of energy. Will healthy eating cause you to lose weight? Yes it will, if you body needs to lose weight; otherwise it will help you to maintain a healthy weight. But the most important part of eating healthy is how much more energy you have, the number of diseases you suddenly avoid, and the extended life that you will live on this earth.
