Ebay Selling Tips That Make Your Life Easier

Many people rely on eBay to get the best deals or just to sell away an item that

had been lingering around for far too long, but it is worth a king's ransom to someone else. Here are some selling tips to make your eBay life much more easier (and also to help you sell off that Mickey Mouse figurine you have hidden away at the corner of your shelf).

List your item and attach a simple description to it. Never introduce too many distracting icons, animated Gifs and colourful backgrounds in your auctions. You just want to sell your item, not to entertain the buyers!

When selling any items like software, media, or designer labels, always state clearly in your auction that you are selling genuine products and not some pirated copy. By bring honest with your customers, the more they will trust you and your reputation on eBay will be increased. If you really want to sell illegal copies, go ahead. But be warned that you will end up with a poor reputation on eBay and a possible chance of violating copyright.

Always display shipping costs and the flat rate you are charging for shipping legibly on your auction descriptions. Also, let your customers know you offer overseas shipping and that will prompt overseas customers to shop with you, thus increasing overall sales.

Next, make sure your spelling is correct. Your item will not show up in 'search' if you have misspelled the name of that particular item. Also, make sure the title of is a perfect description of your item, and always write a detailed description about your item, which will be very helpful to your potentials buyers.

Upload many pictures of your items to display it to your eBay customers. Many just add a description for the item and fail to host a picture of that item, your bidders would also like to see what the item looks like instead of only relying on your description. Make sure the resolutions of your pictures are set to the highest resolution. By hosting your pictures on external sites like photobucket.com, it will not take much time to load the pictures on eBay.

The next tip is to list your item at the appropriate category. Many eBay buyers look for the item under its specific categories. If you have listed your product under a wrong category, your customers will not be able to find your item and most likely, your sales will suffer.

Build up a positive feedback by providing great customer service! You can earn your positive reputation by being honest with your customers, especially if your item is less that perfect. This builds up confidence between you, as the seller, and your eBay customers. More eBay buyers will trust a seller with positive feedback rather than one who has little or none at all.

Do not start the auction by listing a high starting price for your item. This is a turn-off for many possible eBay buyers. Be realistic about the price. By setting it too low, you will not be able to earn any profit at all. Remember, your item will reach its correct value, especially the last few minutes of the auction, if you list it properly.

Lastly, always time your auctions and try to make sure it ends on a weekend. Traffic on eBay usually increases during the weekends and this allows more bidders that are unable to come online during the weekdays to participate in the auction. Also, whenever there are any promotions going on in eBay, take advantage of it especially when eBay offers a promotion in which you can advertise your items at a reduced fee.

Remember, build up a good reputation by making sure you have great trades with your eBay buyers. Impress them with your professionalism and you'll see many more eBay customers coming your way soon.
