But the advertising portion is only the beginning of the process, to actually keep the growth and reap rewards from it you have to have a good business behind the promotions. Bringing in customers will only be successful if you can hang onto those customers, and doing so takes a little bit more forethought than many business owners are capable of. You must have in place a good business structure that starts with your baseline employees, those who are actually hands on with the customers each and every day. They must be friendly and personable and be willing to go above and beyond for your customers. This is just another step in the good business model, it's not all that you have to offer. Your products or services have to really be of use for a target market in your local area and be priced comparitively to other business offerings. If you are starting off a marketing strategy for the first time it's crucial that the business is able to support the new customers, because it will only be a temporary surge if not enough structure is in place to handle it. Not having this part of the business ready for the growth may be a source of detriment for your business instead of the good that was intended. It's best to do a gradual increase so that employees and products can be added as you are ready. It is necessary for every business to have marketing in it's growth plan, but along with that your plan should include the staff needed to handle a growth spurt, otherwise you will alienate the new customers you worked so hard to get.
