Hi I'm Sherif from vapourettes.com As you probably know by now, the long awaited Ego-T has been released a few months ago by Joye tech and not longe after that a lot of other companies have followed by copies.
Copies have surfaced all over the place of late so i went on to buy a few from different vendors / suppliers to check them out.
The totally wicked one is a good one but it is a matter of preference as i do not like their logo which is basically the devil. Having said that it is a good marketing ploy as a lot of people are talking about the logo one way or another and consequently they get so many mentions in the forums and generally everywhere else.
I have had and read many reports about the totally wicked ones, some love it yet some hate it. Some say the have terrible leaks and others say they work like a dream.
Electronic cigarettes in general are a hit and miss thing when it comes to atomizers. Some work perfect right from the start and can last a long time (2-3months) others can be just dead from the start. One company i must say have very good 510 atomizers and that is Boge. No doubt about it. I sold many Boge electronic cigarettes and many Boge 510 atomizers and only very few have come back, in fact i can count the ones that came back on my hand. Joye although they are more well known yet still their atomizers fail more often than boge.
Unfortunately Boge do not produce an Ego so i went on to buy from different other suppliers.
A company called young smoking who you can find on Alibaba.com amongst many others were one of the ones i have tried. They sell mainly 510s and Egos be it the standard ego or the Mega Egos including both types A and B and finally the Ego-t. They also produce another type of Ego which they call Brother which boasts a 1300mAh battery that can and does last 2 days of heavy vaping. The finish on their product is really very good and looks excellent. Functionality however is a different matter.
I bought some Ego Mega type B ones which worked fine, so i decided to try the Brother. It worked fine initially then the leaks have started which i was very disappointed about as i really loved the brother. After that i decided to try the Ego-T as it was a new release from them so i got a few of them to try out. Sadly the atomizers are terrible to say the least. The liquid seems to be chocked all the time so i constantly keep getting this burnt taste and the harsh throat hit associated with it. I tried 4 atomizers so far and all of them do the same thing.
Also be aware of where to buy the tank cartridges from as well. As this company young smoking supply them but with a soft end cap. The majority of Ego-T suppliers will supply tank cartridges that have a hard end. The difference being is the soft end will wear a lot faster than the hard end cartridges. Being a soft end cartridge, the more you keep refilling the more you will be opening the cartridge to top up and the more wear the soft tip will. Another thing to think of when buying Ego-T cartridges is the cap that goes at the end of the cartridge. Not the mouthpiece end but refilling end. Some suppliers will supply Ego-T carts without the additional cap that will prevent leaks after you refill the cartridge. This cap is very useful if you happen to pre-fill some tank carts so you can take out with you while out and about. If you do not have that additional plastic cap with the cartridge then the cartridge will leak as it is being transported around. So make sure to ask that question when buying Ego-T cartridges.
The other company i tried is called famoustech which very much sell the same things. I bought a couple of Ego-T and quite a few ego atomizers from them and an equivalent to the brother called the FT SUN. Lucky for me, their products stood the tests and are still working very well. I also bought some spare type B atomizers which are still working fine 4 weeks on.
The Ego-T they produce have a slight advantage to others on the market apart from Joye ones. The advantage is the battery has a 3 press cut off point. Currently only Joyetech will do them) So you press the button 3 times and it kills the battery which is a safe thing as if you are carrying the e-cig in a pocket or handbag it will not accidentally work which can burn the atomizer.
Apart from the 3 press function the Ego-T works really well. Tank Cartridges have a hard cap end to them which makes them last longer, the draw on the Ego-T is very good. Not too tight and not too loose either which makes a very pleasant experience.
Similar is the FT SUN which works like a dream so far. No leaks whatsoever. I really put it through its paces the past few weeks. The cartridge of the FT SUN is a standard Mega type B cartridge which can hold up to 2.5ml of liquid. I filled the cartridge up to the top then stood the ecig upright and left it for a while, also i have put it upright in my shirt pocket as i went out and about to see if there is any leak. I performed the same test on the Ego-T as well.
Thankfully both ecigs passed the test with flying colours. No leaks at all.
It goes to show that you can still get a decent Ego-T or any other type of electronic cigarette apart from the joye and it will work properly. Some will even work better than the original.
I hope this article has shed some light on the different types that are available to buy from different suppliers. Always be careful where to buy from.
Incidentally the suppliers on alibaba are a lot cheaper than buying from other retail websites. They are supposed to be trade suppliers (ie quantities) but you can always ask for samples which many do. That way you can buy say different colours or different models at a fraction of the cost of retail. Against that however you are taking a risk as you are not guaranteed if the actual product will perform as you might think it will. Most of the time though, the items that i bought to test worked fine and i went and placed larger orders with them.
