Electric Cigarettes Might Be Helpful To The Environment

You might not think that all of the cigarettes that people smoke outside and inside

their homes does much harm to the environment, but it does its share. The biggest thing probably even more than the smoke is the vast numbers of cigarette butts that are carelessly discarded by smokers everyday. They can be found on beaches, sidewalks, in parks and almost any other outdoor area you can think of. It is a terrible shame that such a small piece of trash can accumulate so much that they are literally everywhere you go.

These butts end up being carried off and eaten by fish and small animals. It can cause them tremendous harm and even death. All of the chemicals that are in these butts is toxic to say the least, much less the fact that eating the material they are made from is deadly to them too. This is one reason that environmentalists from all walks of life hate cigarette butts so badly. It is not just because they are unsightly to look at everywhere, but they cause a lot of devastation to birds, animals and fish.

There is a lot that can be done about the cigarette butt issue if only smokers would be more careful when they dispose of their cigarettes when they are finished with them. They might make sure to extinguish them and find a proper trash facility or carry them in an envelope or their pocket until they find one. They should never throw them on the ground, into a body of water or even flush them down a toilet.

People that have begun to use an electric cigarette might have a good solution to the cigarette butt problem because the plastic filters that they use on their vaping device is refillable. This means they can reuse it at least a number of times before it has to be discarded. Even after that they should be recycled like any other plastic.

Even though it might be just a small contribution, the vapor from an electric cigarette is much better for the environment because it is not loaded full of deadly chemicals and it is not even real smoke to begin with. The e cigarette that many people are using might not be actually contributing a lot to improving our environment, but we will take any help we can get these days. So, if you are still a smoker, do the rest of the world a favor and at least do it as responsibly as you possibly can.
