Electronic Cigarette - Sun, Sea, Sand and E Cigarettes?

Is it a fantastic commitment to work or just a little bit sad that I am writing about electronic cigarettes while I am on a "vacation"?

By the time I get to type this up and publish it for you to read, I will be huddled over my computer, shivering in my woolly sweater, dreaming about the day I sat on a far away beach in the baking sunshine, ice cold drink in hand, plotting and pacing my next electronic cigarette article!

Regardless, here I am, smothered in super high factor sun lotion, watching the white dots that are sailing boats and yachts on the horizon taking advantage of the stiff but wonderfully warm breeze.

In front of me, a long row of sun loungers, perhaps the noisiest row of glorified deckchairs I have ever witnessed, the occupants babbling and jabbering in a language I recognise but for the sake of diplomacy shall remain anonymous in this article.

In the brief moments of relative respite and quiet, a column of smoke rises above each sun lounger and gently drifts towards me, settling inconveniently in my direct air space, causing me to cough and splutter and reach for a bottle of water.

After about the third hour of almost constant assault by this legion of smoke signals, I perhaps belatedly realised that this was to be an "all day" event and I moved as far away from possible.

What a good idea, I thought, that if the ice cream man who peddled up and down the beach on his rickety old bicycle selling his cold and refreshing treats also stocked a selection of electronic cigarettes so that my chain smoking beach companions could vape away in peace without sharing their tobacco and toxins with the rest of us!

To explain a little further, the e cigarette as it is often called, and is a controversial product in its own right contains no tobacco and produces no smoke, just a relatively odourless water like vapour that dissolves into the air within seconds and a measure of nicotine to the user.

In this modern age of health awareness and caution, it is perhaps inevitable and also correct that any and every new product is thoroughly scrutinised and monitored as it is released for human use and/or consumption. It is then, perfectly fair that the electronic cigarette endures the same testing as its tobacco counterpart but somewhat mystifying that a product that so obviously has less contaminants than regular cigarettes, is faced with such stiff opposition around the world.
