Tata Young

Born Su Min Ta Marie Young, Tata Young is a popular Thai singer, actress and dancer. Young is best known for her adrenaline-filled songs of high intensity. Young is often described as the best Thai musician of all time.

Young first shot into worldwide popularity with the release of her first album Su Min Ta Tata Young in 1997. Over one million copies of the album were sold within five months of its release making Young a household name across the world.

Early Years

Young was born on December 14, 1980 in a small hamlet of Thailand. Her father was Tim Young was an American while mother Bunchrorn Young was from Thailand.

Young took to music when she was very young and won international division of the nationwide Thailand Junior Singing Contest when she was only 11. Her performance of One Night Only held audience spellbound. With the title, she also won a contract with Yamaha music and thus her professional music career got off to a flying start at a very young age.

In 1994, she was roped in by Thailands biggest entertainment GMM Grammy. Her first album with GMM turned out to be a bestseller in Thailand.

International fame

Following the success of her debut album, Young was chosen to represent Thailand in an Australian television program called World Telly broadcast. The show made her popular in entire Australia and Southeast Asia.

Later she also went to on to perform in Hollywood, China and Britain earning her huge following in all these places.

Tata became the youngest entertainer to win coveted Golden Pikkanes God Awardthe highest award in the field of music in Thailand.

Tata young has also been an active model and actress. Her debut film The Red Bike Story that was released in 1997 broke all previous records for highest attendance of audience. The film also earned her best actress award at fourth annual blockbuster entertainment awards in 1997.

Tata has also recorded song Dhoom Dhoom for Bollywood movie Dhoom 2 in 2002.
