hundreds of free activities that you can enjoy? The Big Smoke is a treasure trove of fun attractions that do not cost a penny to enjoy. Whether you are planning a move to the city or simply need to refresh your mind as to why you chose to live in London in the first place, here are our top tips for free attractions in one of the worlds most diverse cities.

Art lovers will be spoilt for choice with the wide variety of fantastic galleries that are situated all across London. From classical to modern art, visitors can explore works by some of the art worlds best loved artists without having to pay hefty entry fees. The Tate Modern and Tate Britain are just two of the famous galleries in the city, displaying artwork from the sixteenth century right up to the present day. The National Portrait Gallery is another must see along with the National Gallery situated in Trafalgar Square. Many of the major art galleries stay open until late so it is a great choice for an evening date or unique meeting place for friends.

Once you have exhausted the art galleries it is time to head to one of the many museums in the city. All of the major museums in the city are free however certain exhibitions may require a small payment. From famous attractions such as the National History and Science to lesser known hidden gems such as the Horniman Museum there is something for everyone.

If the weather is nice it is a great excuse to check out some of the capital citys best loved parks and gardens. History lovers will appreciate witnessing one of the most famous events in the city, the Changing of the Guard.
