Entertain And Amaze With Some Simple Card Tricks

. While many websites offer tutorials, special card decks, and DVDs for a price, try a search engine like Google or Yahoo and you'll find plenty of free tricks to get you started. Find youtube videos that will teach you.

Here are a few simple card tricks sure to entertain your family at the next holiday gathering:

You can do this first trick with a normal set of cards and psychic ability. Ask someone to shuffle the deck. Then fan the cards across a table, face up, reminding everyone the cards are in no particular order. While you're doing that, identify the top card.

Have your spectator cut the deck into three piles, making sure to keep your eye on where the card that was on top of the deck ends up. Put the top of the deck in the middle.

Ask the spectator to check the card on the top of the middle pile without showing you. Little do they know, you know what card that is. Ask them to place the card in any of the three piles.

Put all the decks together and give the cards a good shuffle. The card in question should be concentrated on by the participant. Ask them to concentrate on the color, then tell them. Next, ask them to think of the suit. Finally, ask them to communicate the card's number to you silently. You can then reveal it because you knew it the whole time.

This one is easier, but you have to keep doing it before they figure it out. Separate the cards by blacks or reds. Then, put them back together. Now you're ready for your audience.

Begin by separating the deck into two piles again, face down. Ask someone to pick up a card from each pile and ask them to memorize them. Then, put them into the opposite pile. Then ask the person to keep the cards face down so you can't see them and shuffle each pile, then put one of the piles on top of the other.

Since no one knows you separated the colors before the trick began, pick up the deck and easily announce the chosen cards by finding the two that don't match the colors around them.

This card trick requires some practice if you really want to sell your audience. Begin with a relatively new deck of cards. Ask someone to pick a random card. It can either be kept a secret or shown to the others. Ask the whole group to close their eyes and imagine it.

While everyone is concentrating on the card, stack the rest in a pile and use your thumb to slightly bend the corner of the card on the bottom of the deck. Ask the participant to place the card on top of the deck. Ask the same person to cut the deck, and put the bottom of the deck on top. Ask for two or three more cuts to make sure the card is really hidden. You will always find the magic card just below the bent card.
