Environmentally Safe Methods For Rat Control

. A rat is a house pest that can destroy a lot of things. Among its favourite nibbles are your precious possessions: expensive garments, the wirings of your home theatre system, or that newly imported Persian carpet. Pest control companies employ tried-and-tested methods to deal with a sly rat.

One of these ways is creating compost. This is basically dug out in an area where you want to lead and do away with the pesky rodent. You can put piles into your compost with waste food and other biodegradable garbage that rats usually take. Make sure to keep the compost far enough for the rat to find its way back to the kitchen door.

The dilemma with composting is that a whole population of rats can still get out of it, leaving you with no other recourse but to use other methods which are not as sanitary or efficient. Cats released to run after rats may just leave their droppings anywhere in the house. This worsens the problem. So what then will you do to your over-filling compost?

Pest control companies will help save the day. You can plan to monitor the compost and just before there is more population than it can handle, send in your rat exterminator. As you desire to be earth-friendly, choose pest control companies that use certified environmentally acceptable chemicals. This is the same when you are dealing with a mosquito or cockroach problem.

You can also try to do the bucket method. Surround your compost with buckets, with each bucket containing bait. A rat, detecting the bait, will easily make its way into the bucket but will hardly make its way out. The bucket method can work for as many rats possible. After a rat gets trapped, it is then up to you to find a way to dispose of it. The bucket trap can work for a rat; a different approach will be required for a mosquito or cockroach.
