, but it should also follow the proper etiquette when it comes to writing ads. If you do not follow these, people will no longer trust you and your adsand any marketing and advertising effort you employ in the future. Of course, your ad should be captivating. But even so, you still have to follow these etiquette even at the risk of writing a less arresting ad.

What is this etiquette for making classified ads? Here are some:

1.Neverat any point, no matter what your reason iscreate an ad that is untruthful and/or misleading. Always say the truth at all times, even if this means you will reveal the unattractive features of your product. This is why the skill of writing good ad copy is essential when writing a classified. Although you cannot hide the ills of your product or service, you can make these things appear insignificant vis a vis the benefits and the features of your product.

For instance, you are selling rare action figure. However, it isnt in mint condition. You cannot forego this information, as this is one of the details buyers will look for. Therefore, you can emphasize the fact that while it isnt in mint condition, the action figure is cheapplus the damage isnt so significant anyway.

2.However, when doing so, you cannot do a bait and switch strategy. Do not advertise one thing then sell another. Furthermore, do not say one thing while meaning another. For instance, do not say your action figure is near mint condition when you mean it has several damages. In a personal ad, do not say you are chubby when you mean to say you are obese.

In other words, in any form of classified ad, you should paint a clear picture of the product or service being advertised.

3.Your ad should be professional. Posting a lackluster, ill-prepared ad is disrespectful to the readers. This means that the ad should be well written, with no grammar and typographical errors. The pictures you use should be of good quality, not grainy or hardly visible. The manner of the ad should also be professional rather than personal. Anyone reading your ad has interest with your preference or your personal opinionthey want facts, information they can use.

This is something many people forget. They say that content is always better than form. However, formor your manner of creating the adshould be perfect, not only because this yields a good chance of success but also because the readers of your ads deserves to be respected.

4.In addition to being professional, you should also be decent. Refrain from using possibly offending language and pictures. Your ad should be clean enough to be read by anyone old enough to use the Internet. Of course, there is an exemptionwhen the classified website is adult-themed or strictly for adults. Do not post links that direct to indecent websites, unless the situation is mentioned above.
