Though patio heaters help people to enjoy outdoor spaces during winter, these have invited the criticism of many environmental groups who claim that they add up to the greenhouse gases. According to a study report published by the Energy Trust, a patio heater can generate in six months as much green house gases as driving across the country 200,000 times, which has prompted the European Union to consider a ban on patio heaters.
