Writing an Internet Sales Letter
Writing an Internet Sales Letter
I've been learning how to write sales letters. I've studied some examples of sales letters and I'm beginning to understand them a bit. Today I got an email today which was an example of a pre-launch sales letter. It looked like this;
Example of a Sales Letter for Pre-Launch
"Dear Member.
I have been working on the most amazing business project
of my 40+ year business career.
In a few days, I will share it with you in an exciting video (almost finished) that will PROVE why SOON virtually anyone will be able to succeed in business..... yes, even succeed in the network marketing program of your choice.
However, I do have one small piece of my project to share with you - Right Now!
Have you ever wished you could be sitting at, or very near, the top of a quality Matrix program? In 40 years of networking I have never had that luxury until now...... this is your chance too, and you can lock in your top position immediately without spending a dime.
This is absolutely a once-in-a-lifetime offer. The best part is you can take immediate action and NOT risk a single dime - IT IS F.R.E.E - and, you have zero obligation whatsoever!
PLEASE DO NOT DELAY!
Do it right now - go to www (dot) hotprelaunch (dot) com/253970 ( Editor's Note: I've purposely changed the URL because I don't want the outgoing link here.)
Remember to be on the look out for my next email. It will include my new video.
To your prosperity,
Kelly"
Analysis of Example PreLaunch Sales Letter
Now I don't usually respond to this kind of thing but I will say I did click the link. My reason is that I am studying how to write lead capture pages. This one seems to do three things that I think helped make this attractive.
It immediately establishes a foundation upon which someone would seem believable because it talks about 40+ years in Business.
The bolded "It is F.R.E.E." Now your head tells you if it is free, how good can it be or what's the catch. That is the rational brain. The less intellectual side says what the heck, it is free and all I'm risking is a few emails. So why not take the plunge!
The last thing that I liked about this is the time pressure to sign up. The fact that it is a pre- launch means this is somewhat exclusive and you want to be on board before it takes off. The call to action tied to a time pressure is a great hook. Of course it may not take off but the little voice in my head was saying what if it does?
Why I clicked the Link
Ultimate, since there was no obligation other than a few emails so I clicked on the link. I wanted to see what kind of message or information was inside. Sure it was not a totally rational decision but the risk reward said there was very little risk and there was potential reward. For me, not only is the reward potentially financial but I will also be taking a close look at some of the writing, how it is crafted and what message they are trying to send. I'm getting one benefit for certain and possibly a second.
Now I'm leaving it up to you if you want to click the link to jump in to the
prelaunch. If you don't, no big deal. If you do, I guess we'll see what's going to happen here.
