Exclusive CCTV footage of Dominique Wilkins Attack - Watch

According to Atlanta police, the attack on the NBA Hall of famer Dominique Wilkins was made because Wilkins owed him some money.

Michael, 36, attacked firstly his security guard then he attacked Wilkins in his chest. Michael was a college basketball referee and used to own his own clothing store. He was arrested by the Atlanta police department. So not only did Michel allegedly lose out on a business deal, but he also lost a fight and his dignity and got himself a cellmate in the deal, too.

According to news Michael gave Wilkin three solid punches and Wilkin couldn't defend himself. Wilkin is an ex HAWKS player and was a HAWK member from 1982 to 1994. He also acts as a Television analyst and Hawk's Vice president.

The AJC reports: "The man who allegedly attacked NBA Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins after Wednesday night's game said Wilkins owed him money, Atlanta police said. Rashan S. Michel, 36, was arrested and charged with one count of simple battery following the incident, Officer K.Y. Jones with Atlanta police told the AJC. Michel, who told police he was owed money for suits purchased several years ago, hit Wilkins in the chest and also hit a security guard, Jones said. Michel, of Atlanta, has worked as an NBA and college basketball referee and previously owned his own clothing store."

Wilkin wasn't injured seriously so he completed his TV work following the HAWK's win. Michel was a replacement ref in the '95-96 season and also officiated NBA games from 1997-2001. His NBA refereeing career overlapped with 'Nique when "The Human Highlight Film" was winding down his career with the Orlando Magic in the 1998-99 season. He saw what a beast Wilkins was on the court and should know better than to try to throw down with the 6-foot-8 Wilkins -- especially on his own turf.
