This exercise is great for all sports: basketball, volleyball, football you name it any sport where explosiveness and quick leaping ability is key and essential this exercise will help you attain your goals guaranteed! The exercise is lateral hops. This is how you perform this plyometric exercise. If you are a beginner start with a low height to jump across.

Back in high school I started with two old chairs from my basement and an old broomstick my mom thru in the garbage as my equipment! Take the two chairs put them about 4 to 5 feet across and lay the broomstick across it. The object of the exercise is to stand parallel to the chairs with the broomstick to your left or right side of you whichever side you feel comfortable with let that be your starting side.

Jump across and over the broomstick whilelanding on the balls of your feet (toes)as soon as your balls of your feet touch the ground immediately jump back across the broomstick laterally. Perform as many reps as possible for approximately2 to3 sets.Perform this exercise about twice a week with about three days rest in betweenworkout sessions.

This plyometric workout should only last about 12 minutes. After a couple weeks of this exercise you can add several inches to your vertical jump and improve your agility, speed and quickness as well!
