Exhibiting At Your First Trade Show

There may be many that have attended a trade show for business or personal purposes

but how many people have exhibited at trade shows? If youre exhibiting for the first time here are some tips and pointers for the perfect trade show display.

Booth space: How much space are you allotted at the show? Depending on your booth size youll have a clear cut idea of what you can include in your booth. Typical booth spaces are 10 x 10 or 10 x 20. This will be helpful to know so you can choose a display size and type, as well as trade show flooring.

Display size and type: Choosing a display can be quite the task if you dont know where to start. There are pop up display, table top displays, stretch graphic displays, and hybrid displays among a few other styles. Whats important in a trade show display is finding a display that will exhibit the artwork well and preferably be lightweight and easy to assemble. If you plan on exhibiting with other marketing materials like brochures, videos, or promotions, find a display that will accommodate those things as well. Some displays allow for LCD monitor mounting, LED light attachments, and shelves. Accessories like literature racks, podiums, and tables with table throws are also great additions to look into if you plan on bringing a few materials along. If you dont know much about displays try getting a few recommendations and calling those companies with their suggestions and pricing. Check out their testimonials sections or product review sections if they have any.

Trade show flooring: Probably one of the better creations in the trade show industry. A lot of first-timers dont know about this, but veteran exhibitors know how important flooring is. As trade shows run an average of over 6 hours each day, adding comfortable trade show flooring into your booth is sure to make it a more pleasant experience. Being on your feet for hours at a time isnt comfortable for anyone, so you can thank me later for this tip. Try to look for flooring that is both comfortable and stylish enough to accommodate your booth style.

Hanging signs: Typically if youll be exhibiting in a larger booth (usually 10 x 20 and up) youll be approved for the use of a hanging sign. Hanging signs come in many different shapes and sizes but are great to have at indoor trade shows. With a hanging sign your booth can be located from any angle of the room and draws in attention. Make sure you get approval for hanging signs because some shows allow them and some cannot accommodate them but its always good to have one if you can.
