Climate
There weather varies from region to region. Winter is between January and February, summer from March to May, Monsoon from June to September and post-monsoon from October to December. The dominant seasons are the rainy season and the dry season, in most of the places the climate is hot and clammy. Hurricanes, droughts, floods, cyclones etc are also part of the weather especially along the coastline. Depending upon the climate certain parts of India can be the best place to visit.

The quality of food is commendable as well. If you require exotic food or food that needs to be imported from other places, it would certainly cost you more. If you are planning on settling in India be prepared to know before hand that the rules and regulations will not be similar to what you are used to in the west. Schooling is again a slightly expensive matter, although there are government schools, foreigners would be better off enrolling their children in private schools, where the teaching system is different and well structured. In the main cities such as Bombay, Delhi, Calcutta and Chennai your expenses are bound to be much more. Labor is very cheap in India and you can easily hire a maid, driver, cook etc for very less. If you want to shop, India has luxurious shopping malls as well as street corner shops in abundance. Both urban as well as rural India has a lot of culture to offer. You can find hand made crafts, artwork, paintings, sculptures etc in every nook and corner that will make you wonder why it took you so long to realize that this is the place you want to spend the rest of your life in.
