If you are buying a car then there is more to consider than whether it is pricey to buy, especially with the current economic environment and prices being so high across the board. How much is the car going to cost to insure, and how much is the road tax per year? Not to mention how expensive the parts would be to replace should anything go wrong. So of the modern cars on the roads today, which are the most expensive to run?

The Chrysler saloon is high up there on the pricey list, as it can cost over six thousand pounds to service but if you are looking for something reliable then it is a great car to choose.

The Subaru WRX STi Saloon costs a bomb to purchase, and if you want to show a car like this off on the roads you'll be hit with massive fuel costs per week, as this has rubbish fuel consumption. It's an impressive vehicle to look at, but if you don't have the bank balance to match then you could find it difficult to run.

Mitsubishis have all wheel drive systems which are a nightmare and very costly to keep clean, and the Evo model is no exception, with yearly maintenance totals over six thousand pounds.

The Audi RS6 saloon accelerates at a rate of knots; although this is its failing point is that the tyres alone will cost you nearly four thousand pounds to maintain, not to mention the engine maintenance. Audis R8 Coupe also makes the list of expensive maintenance, with expensive brakes and tyres keeping up the high end maintenance costs.

The most expensive however is the Nissan GT-R which not only costs sixty thousand pounds to purchase but a further thirteen thousand pounds a year on brakes, petrol and other maintenance.
