Experience Korean Culture In Canada With Toronto's Koreatowns
Are you interested in Korea? If you happen to live in the Greater Toronto Area
, you're in luck. Head over to one of Toronto's two Koreatowns at either Yonge and Finch or Bloor and Christie and you'll get to experience plenty of things Korean.
1. Restaurants: if you're interested in trying Korean food for the first time, or if you've had it many times before and need to get your kimchi fix, then there are some stellar restaurants for you to visit in these two Koreatowns. Our favorite by far is the Oh Geul Boh Geul in the North York area. There you'll find a Mul Neng Myeon (cold buckwheat noodles) as good as any you might have had in Korea, along with many other excellent dishes as well.
2. Are you interested in Karaoke, but too shy to sing in front of strangers? Try a No Rae Bang, which is a private singing room, where you and your friends reserve a room and sing your guts out. No shame, no embarrassment. Have a good time with your friends and sing your favorite songs in Korean or English. Head over to the XO at Bloor and Christie and get a room right away!
3. Want to change up your home cooking with some Korean ingredients? Head over to the giant supermarket at Bloor and Christie and get all that you would ever want. Add some kimchi as a side dish. Add some rice cakes to your stews. Perhaps even have some delicious choco pies for desert. There's all that and then some, and all within your reach.
So whether you're Korean and you miss your home country, or Canadian and want to experience a little taste of Korea, Toronto's two Koreatowns have loads to offer to help you get your Korean fix.
