Bharatpur bird sanctuary is the largest bird sanctuary in Asia. It is one of the finest bird sanctuaries in the world and also houses some of the animals as well. It is situated in the dry land of Rajasthan. Over 230 species of birds are known to have made this national park their home. It is known for nesting of its resident birds and visiting migratory birds including water birds. The rare Siberian cranes used to spend their winter in this park but this central population of Siberian Cranes is now extinct. It is an excellent destination for bird tour in India.

Periyar national park is amongst the famous wildlife sanctuaries of India. It is the most visited destinations located in the southern state of Kerala, gods own country. Many nature lovers tour this place as the lush green forests, the colorful wildlife and the adventure involved, thrills the enthusiasts. It is one of the tiger reserves. It is also called Thekkady. It is known for the large herds of Indian elephants which thrive in the dense forests in the cardamom hills. One can witness the playful animals and the wonderful surrounding of Kerala. Wayanad wildlife sanctuary in Kerala is another wonderful place for the wildlife seekers. One can witness Indian bison, tigers, deers and elephants in the dense green forests of this national park.

Sariska is situated in the alwar town of Rajasthan. Some of the wildlife found in the Sariska Tiger Reserve includes the Bengal tiger, leopard, jungle cat, striped hyena, golden jackal, wild boar and many other species of animals. There are varied bird species as well. Govind Wild Life Sanctuary was established in 1955, and is situated in the Uttarkashi district. One has to trek to this national sanctuary to catch a glimpse of Himalayan black bears, snow leopard, brown bears, pheasants, chukor and many other species.


All these wildlife sanctuaries are worth a safari. India is a treasure land and all these are asset for this wealthy land.
