This was one of the most influential financial institutions in the country until the mid-1800s.
Today, it is full of a plethora of portraits from the time. Another one of the most aesthetically pleasing buildings that was important to America's financial beginnings is the Merchants' Exchange.
It is the oldest stock exchange building and was in operation during the economic boom during Andrew Jackson's first term. One site that both you and your family will enjoy visiting is the Betsy Ross House.
It has been perfectly restored to how it must have looked during the year 1777, and is dedicated to her memory and history. Betsy Ross is known through historical storytelling to be the one that created the first American flag.
