FIBC- Flexible Intermediate bulk container and its uses!
FIBC- Flexible Intermediate bulk container and its uses!
DO you know How much it takes to packing material and what all packaging systems you need? I may try to give you little bit information about packaging system and fibc.First talking about bulk packaging, it is a system of preparing goods for transport, distribution storage, retailing and end use. There are basically three different kinds of packages categorized on the basis of use and function.
Bulk packaging system includes
Intermediate bulk containers (IBC)
Flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBC)
Woven sack
Bulk shrink wrap
Stretch wrapping
Getting into more detail about fibc, the range of standard fibc extensively serves many dry-bulk handling applications, providing with a safe and efficient semi bulk packaging solution.
These fibc designs can be produced in different sizes and different colors according to customer requirements.
Square corner fibc:
U or 4 panels with flat fabric with lifting loop sewn to vertical seams.
Square cross corner fibc:
U or 4 panels with flat fabric with lifting loops sewn cross corner.
Circular cross corner fibc:
Circular fabric with lifting loops sewn cross corner
Introducing flexible intermediate bulk containers (fibc) as packing product they are mostly produced from special grade of polypropylene and other chemicals. They are able to carry 500-2000 kg of high density material. Fibc enables quick loading and unloading with the help of fork lifters.
Fibc production is highly labor intensive process so fibc are mostly produced in developing countries like India with cheap labor but used in developed countries.
Most common users offibc are construction companies in Europe and North America,
India, china and turkey are three leading fibc producing and exporting nations.
Types of polypropylene bags also falls under FIBC category.
Getting to the definition as per ISO 21898:2004
Single trip: An fibc designed and intended to be used for one filling only.
Multi trip: An fibc designed and intended to be used for a limited number of fillings and discharges. An fibc of this category cannot be reused if damaged, i.e. is not repairable.
UN-Dangerous goods: An fibc built to ensure safe transport of dangerous materials.
I hope this little fibc knowledge will help you to know about using packaging material effectively!
