Facebook Html Profile Box Is It Heaven Or Hell? How Do You Get One?

Chances are you might not even know what a Facebook HTML Profile Box is and it is

also possible if you are new to the Social Media arena that you have never even seen one!

Facebook has a number of apps or applications that you can use to enhance your Facebook experience. You can review them by clicking on the settings menu item which is located on the top right of your Facebook page on the right side between your name and the Logout menu tab. Usually you can just position your mouse pointer over the word settings and a drop down menu will appear.

You will note that it has four items to select: Account Settings, Privacy Settings, Application Settings and Help. By clicking on the application settings you will be directed to a new page with a list of applications on the left and a set of options on the right side of your page. At the right top you will notice another drop down menu box labeled Show.

If you click on show it will give you a number of choices: Recently Use, Bookmarked, Added to Profile, Authorized, Allowed to Post, Granted Additional Permissions and Facebook Prototypes. You will also notice a number of options below this Box such as Edit Settings, Profile and X which is used to cancel the application.

You may find that if you do a Google search for HTML Profile Box that a lot of people have been having trouble getting it to work properly. Here is how you will be able to get it working just fine.

So here is how to get the application up and running. A word of caution, take your time and do not rush and do not start this if you are tired and worn out from a long day of work.

Ok, remember the top facebook menu bar? On the far right it has a search box. If you type in HTML profile box you will see a drop down item with a logo that says HTML Profile Box. Click on it and it you will be taken to the Box apps page. Here you are going to be able to add the application to your page. At the top left of the page you should see HTML Box Logo and Go to Application link below it.

So start by: 1. Add the app and click Apply button on the confirmation window.2. Now return to your Facebook Profile page to edit the app settings for the app by positioning your mouse pointer over the Settings menu and then click on Application Settings in the drop down list.3. Find the HTML-Profile-Box in the list of apps then go back to the top right where the drop down Show box menu is and select Authorized from the list to show all the apps authorized to access your profile data.4. You now want to go to the Box app and Click on Edit Settings and this will bring up a pop up box which says HTML-Profile-Box Settings, in it you will find 3 tabs Profile, Bookmark and Additional Permissions.5. Next in the pop-up window, make sure the Profile tab is highlighted.6. Next to the Box item is the word Add. Click on this to add a box to your profile for this app. It will then change to Added.7. Now you can decide if you want to modify the Privacy depending on whether you want your friends and or network only to see the box or if you want everybody to see it.8. You are now done with setting up the HTML Application. Do not leave this page and look to the bottom left of the page.9. Now on the bottom left of your page you will notice the word Applications click on it and another pop up window appears with a list of applications. Find the HTML.Profile.Box and click on it and you will see another window come up which will say Customize Your Box.10. This is the editor you will use, once it loads which may take 30 seconds or so on busy connection.11. To start off type something like hello or welcome inside the editor window. Then you will notice on the bottom right of the text editor box, a check box Announce Update and below it Update HTML Profile Box. Uncheck the announce update box and then click on Update-Box.12. Now return to your Facebook Profile page and you should see in line with your Wall menu the item Boxes. If you click on Boxes it will take you to your Boxes page and you will see your New Profile Box with the words hello or welcome or whatever you typed in it.13. You now can return to the editor at any time to change whatever you want within your box. This can easily be done by clicking on the word Customize which is found on the top right of your Profile Box. You now have the ability to place pictures and/or hyperlinks in your box. You will be able to change font sizes and text colors as you need to. Try a simple text heading in bold and a few lines of text underneath for starters.14. You can drag your box to any desired location on the page by left clicking the box and dragging around.To get a good idea of what you can do with your box you might want to check out the one I have on my page. You will be happy to find that you will now have a built in free advertisement for your friends on Facebook. Start today and experiment.
