Whoever says that Facebook is just an additional networking site doesn't truly realize its quite a few capabilities. I am positive that most people would not know how and why Facebook was developed. To better realize what truly is Facebook, it is always great to start with its humble beginning.

Think it or not, Facebook was created in a quiet and significant campus of Harvard. Facebook was not genuinely developed for the entire world to enjoy, the concept was formed by 1 of the Harvard student to basically communicate and share data with his fellow students in the university. The author and creator of Facebook is Mark Zuckerberg, he initially known as his creation as Facemash on October of 2008 even though he is attending the university as a sophomore (also known as the Facemash incident). Facemash's main purpose is to work as the campus hip directory where students may also share data about various university organizations as well as the site is confined within the Harvard campus. The site soon reached other universities like Yale, Columbia, and Stanford, New York University, Boston University, MIT, even some Canadian universities because of its huge success.

Facebook was finally incorporated with the guidance of Sean Parker who became the President of Facebook inside the year 2004 and later on established its base in Palo Alto, California. Paypal decided to invest on Facebook on the same year which widened its network. From university students and high school students, Facebook soon opened its site for Microsoft and Apple Inc. employees. This is one reason why business began turning to Facebook in advertising their products and services which notably produced a good number of returns. The site is now used as a channel of community or public awareness also by some government and private institutions.
