Failure Is Not An Option, It is Required!
Failure Is Not An Option, It is Required!
Failure is required? Have you lost your mind!
Yes (on both counts), in order to excel and be successful, you will need to fail forward, fail often, learn the lessons, continue making adjustments and taking action, and then you will succeed.
Recently I listened to billionaire Bill Bartmann talk about his failures and what he learned. Anyone looking to have more success in their life must pay attention right now.
Failures are not fatal nor are they permanent, they are just an experience.
Realize that people who have contributed the most to our society are people who have failed the most. Think of Thomas Edison and the Wright Brothers. Do you think they got their inventions right the first time? Of course not! They experienced failure after failure after failure. But their successes were greater than their failures.
I think everyone would agree that Abraham Lincoln achieved great success in his presidency by bringing an end to slavery and keeping the United States a single nation. But if you look back at Lincoln's life it was filled with many significant failures.
He had a nervous breakdown in his twenties. His business failed. He ran for public office about 6 times and lost. Imagine if he had stopped trying and given up because of his failures. He pressed through his failures, learned the lessons, made adjustments and rose to the highest public office, President of the United States.
Failures are not fatal nor are they permanent, they are just an experience.
Here are 7 things Bill Bartmann learned about failure:
We will fail, everyone will fail. So if everyone has and will fail, then failure isn't any big deal.
Why are libraries full of books on How To Succeed' (because we all experience failure).
Most failures are avoidable.
Success' and Failure' are subjective terms, two sides of the same coin.
Both success and failure are temporary.
Any failure can be overcome.
Failure isn't a dead-end it is just a detour, so do not stop, just find a different way to achieve success.
Smart people learn from their mistakes and successes. Really smart people learn from other people's mistakes and successes!
Bill Bartmann also revealed his secrets to overcoming failure and achieving success.
