Faith Is The Currency Of Heaven
The Bible says " And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him". Hebrews 11:6. Just as you recognize pound sterling, dollars, etc as your earthly currency, so also faith is the currency of Heaven. It is very important that you approach God, with faith in your hands, in order to complete the exchange.
You need to exercise the faith that you have, even if it is as small as a mustard seed. The woman with the issue of blood did just this and she was made whole. "Just then, a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the edge of His cloak. She said to herself, "if I only touch His cloak, I will be healed". Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart daughter", He said "your faith has healed you" And the woman was healed from that moment" Matthew 9:20-22.
This woman had the currency of Heaven in her hands, before she approached Jesus and the exchange was complete. She was made whole! Alleluia. If she had been ashamed of her issue, she would not have received her miracle.
Faith is needed at the beginning of our Christian lives and it is also needed as we continue to walk with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Faith is believing with our whole heart that God loves us, cares for us and has our interest in mind. Great faith in God means humility, obedience and growth.
Faith must be the motivating factor for all that we do. The blind man, called Bartimaeus, is a good example of this. The Bible says in Mark 10:46-52, "As Jesus and His disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (that is the son of Timaeus) was sitting by the road begging, when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me"
" Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" "Jesus stopped and said, "call him". So they called to the blind man, "cheer up! On your feet! He is calling you". "Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see". "Go" said Jesus, "your faith has healed you". Immediately, he received his sight and followed Jesus
along the road". Mark 10:46-52
Bartimaeus had the currency of Heaven in his hands and he was very eager to spend it. He was not prepared to let anyone shut him up, as he was very anxious to get healed. He was persistent. Jesus recognized this in Bartimaeus, and He honoured his great faith; and the exchange was complete. Bartimaeus had a great testimony! You will also have a great testimony today, as Bartimaeus did, in Jesus' mighty Name. Amen.
PRAYER OF SALVATION

"Lord Jesus, I am sorry for all the things I have done wrong. Thank you for dying for me on the cross, to set me free from my sins. I ask you to come into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour, and fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen."
