Fake trees - Convenience and Tradition

In the past, fake Christmas trees often had a bad reputation but this has changed!

The technologies used to make artificial Christmas trees have moved on in bounds and nowadays you can get trees that either look very similar to traditionally cut fir trees or look radically different but just as exciting!

Artificial trees come in two types so let's look at the ones that replace the traditional tree first. These trees basically look like a fir tree and generally come undecorated leaving that up to you! Obviously these trees will last for many years with a little bit of care which means that once you have invested in the tree you don't need to spend any more money on that part of it again. As time goes on you may well add and remove decorations and lights to the tree to suit fashion and taste but one thing you can be sure of is that the basic fir tree will not go out of fashion itself. These trees ideally suit families who want to keep the tradition of putting up the tree and decorating it themselves, making it a little bit of a social affair every year.

The other sorts of fake trees are in some ways quite the opposite and are made very much for convenience. They are also somewhat guided by fashion and what may be cool and trendy now may be considered quaint and old fashioned in the future. They often come with built in lights in the form of fibre optics woven into the leaves and they may be colours other than green with pinks and blacks being very popular colours now. These trees are ideal for people in a hurry who don't have the time or the inclination to decorate a tree each year or even to keep piles of decorations in the loft. They may not last for ever in terms of fashion but they are great fun while they do!
