If you can imagine being taken from all you know and love bundled into an aircraft and told that you are just going on a short holiday and you will see your dad and friends soon only to find six months later this will never happen. How do you imagine this will affect the child and his continuing development into adulthood?

I have spent hours trying to understand why my wife would do this heinous act to her child, only to find that I am again shaking my head in complete sorrow and disbelief. It is now shown that just in America alone there are twenty three million Americans' now life in fatherless homes. Bill Clinton even acknowledged that this was growing social problem. Furthermore it has been shown that children growing up in lone mother households are more likely to have emotional, academic and financial problems and on top of these are more likely to engage in anti-social behaviour. For many mothers' fathers' and the children of the so called father less family it has only meant poverty, heart ache, ill health, lost employment and most importantly lack of stability. We can spend many hours looking at all the statistics but we need to act now and stop living for ourselves as parents and spend more time living with our children

How did it get to this point that your wife and mother of your child will just disappear. There are possibly many reasons for this but this is not the point of this message. I have always considered myself as a hands' on and loving father and have thus built up a very close relationship with my son who is now seven years old. He was happy at his school with many friends and was a well-adjusted little boy who did many things with me and his little dog. Then his world changed forever as no childhood is returned with a" oops sorry mistake, let's try that again"

What now of my son living in another country deprived of his father, did he have a say in what happened? Could he have said no" Mom I want to stay with my dad", was he asked? So as a human species we continue to bring children into this world only to do them great later in their lives. Children need fathers in their lives. I hope that by reading this it will help others understand that might be thinking of abducting their children, Children need a daddy to grow up normally and carefree and we should only give them as much love and a chance in life that we can.
