Few interesting facts about snipers
When we mention the term "sniper" most of us imagine sniper games
, like the popular Counter Strike, or some film with a unsocial ranger who is arcane, very focused and precise, works alone with his guns that points with red light, like the guy in the film Shooter.
If we see the definition, "sniper" is a exceptionally well trained soldier who specializes in triggering targets with modified rifles from astonishingly long distances. They are also well trained when it's about covertly, masking, infiltration, and supervision techniques. Even if many people consider that their job is to "pull the trigger", as a matter of fact in reality the true snipers work for the military and law enforcement agencies. They are far more concerned with the number of lives they save than with the ones they take.
Sniper's capital mission is reconnoitring. These soldiers are greats of stealth and they are perfectly appropriate to sneak behind enemy lines. They define command with information about the enemy's size, stamina and location and consider closely their attention to the key figures from the enemy side, like officers, pilots, armour drivers, technicians, and communications operators. Snipers shoot without warning and that's how they break both the enemy's will.
If there isn't any specific object, a sniper looks for, so called, targets of opportunity. They follow the acts of the enemies and wait impassively some of the soldiers to break, or to be unready to defend or hit back - a pilot flight that checks his helicopter, officer taking a break to smoke a cigarette, an armed guard on patrol
Sniper's targets are not only people. They often have to break down material targets like transmitters, generators, radios, fuel and water supplies, etc.
Snipers are also used in support roles which are based on taking a place that has a clear view of the battlefield, maybe setting up on a roof, and comfort the assault force by taking out enemy forces that are hazarding the advancing platoon or help ground forces keep safe their position.
Military strategists refer to the snipers as force multipliers that means an individual or small team that uses special approaches. With this tactics they have the capability do the damage of a much larger force and force multiplication, without ever directly engaging the enemy.
These soldiers always move wisely, under the cover of brush or night, taking with them very little equipment. Oftentimes they need to stay perfectly still for hours or days, waiting for the right instant to take the shot, but simultaneously to avoid exposure. This may seem surprising, but they never travel alone.
