Left Handed Surfing

One of the best places for surfing On Fiji is the Frigates. It can quite safely be said it is one of the best in the world. Frigates provide an easy take off. It provides one of the longest rides of more than 150 meter ride. Since this is a very shallow area, this spot is not suitable for surfing at low tide.

Another break for surfing is the Pipe. It provides for a slow take off after which the waves drop down. The best step to take here is to rail the ride. Although the distance waves here take is just of 50 meters the drop is very swift. This makes it suitable only for experienced surfers. In fact sometimes when conditions are right it can be quite a thrilling experience even if you are one of the most skillful of surfers. It is fine to surf here during mid tide to high tide. If you want to go for body boarding, this is the perfect break in Fiji for this.

If you are a novice in surfing and yet do not want to stay out of the fun, the Resorts is the most suitable break for you. If you want to surf not for any serious reason but just for the fun of it then this is the best spot. You are provided a great pyramid style take off and it is a pure pleasure to get trough here. Another spot is the 420s.

Right Handed Surfing

There are some great breaks for right handed surfing here. Shifties is one such break which allows you a pyramid like take off. In fact this break provides one of the most powerful swell. The high point of this break is that you can surf during all tides. If you want a fast and immediate pleasure experience then you can try out the J break. The best time to surf here is when there is a high tide with wind blowing from dry areas in the North East to the shores in the western regions. Another great spot to surf right handed style is the Serua. You will get one of the longest surf experiences on this break.
