As the oldest and leading community college of nineteen Union County Community College has much to boast about. The campus was established in the early 1930's in New Jersey and has been preparing its student body since its inception. Nearly 13,000 students call this campus home, with nearly a 50/50 fulltime to part-time student ratio. It offers an astonishing 77 programs to its physical and virtual student body. Graduating students can achieve their associate's degree in two years, depending on the ambition of the student.
Tuition
Tuition costs are similar to other colleges; cost per credit is dependent on your residency. Students who have lived in New Jersey for at least 12-months are charged $100.00 per credit hour. Students with a Visa are considered to live in the county and qualify for the previously mentioned cost. Students who do not have the required Visa or residency will be charged $200.00 per credit hour. However, once you have lived in New Jersey for the 12-month period students can apply for in-county rates.
Programs
There is a plethora of available courses to choose from the only difficulty is selecting one. Some programs include: Business Management, Criminal Justice, Dental Assisting and Hygiene, Early Childhood Education Program, Engineering, Television, Urban Studies, Sociology, and Psychology.
Location Information
New Jersey is the most dense state in the entire United States. Transportation within the city is delivered by roadways, airports, rail and bus, ferries and private bus carriers. The city is a wealth of attractions including museums, theme parks, the Jersey Shore, and other exquisite entertainment. Summer heat is usually accompanied by humidty with temperatures in the mid to high 80's and lows in the 60's-70's. Winter months are polar, temperatures can reach 10 degrees Fahrenheit and can rise to the low 60's.
Transportation
Students travel around the campus on bikes,
fast electric scooters, skateboards, gas and
electric motor scooters and of course walking. Students can live off campus and often ride their transportation of choice from their homes to classes. Purchasing such transportation is an expense, which means the listed modes of transportation make excellent
gifts for guys and girls.
