When you look for a mentor there are qualities to look for and if they don't possess these you know they will not get you to where you want to go

Being mentored should be an opportunity to learn from someone who is at the place where you want to get to. Thats it in a nutshell but all too often its easier said than done. This is a very important question and can easily be overlooked. A mentor needs to be actually making money themselves, if they are not doing this then how on earth are they going to show you how to make money? What strategies do they follow? What is their main market and is this where the majority of their sales have been generated? You need to know their background, what they do on a daily basis and do they stay ahead of their game with the latest techniques? Do they know what works and more importantly what doesnt work to share valuable experiences to learn from? There is no room for assumptions when looking for guidance that is of good quality.

Q. Can they prove their income to you?

To reiterate the answer to the last question, you only want to learn from people that are actually making money online themselves. The essential requirement is, are they walking the walk rather than talking the talk and can they give you evidence of earning the money they are claiming. If not, this is a potential warning sign that it could all be smoke and no action? Actual proof is needed as anyone can claim to make money!

Q. Are they teaching methods that work and that are current?

In recent times the internet has changed so quickly, continues to do so and will continue to change. You need to be looking for the latest strategies for making money and not just the ones that have become outdated or were being talked about years ago. Dont get me wrong, some of these older strategies have been very successful and some will continue to however, because of the sophistication of the internet you really do need to keep up with the times and when looking for that mentor, they need to have experience of todays strategies and who have stayed ahead of the game.

Now this is something that most people don't even consider when selecting a mentor. How does you mentor come across? How are you going to learn from them? Do you want to learn from someone who is down to earth and approachable or learn from a home learning distance programme where your mentor isn't even in the same country! Are you able to get hold of them if you need to?

Q. Have they proved they have made it happen for others too?

Look at their business and testimonials from other students. This process is so important and should never be overlooked.
