Finding Good Niches For Article Marketing

Finding the right niche is ofcourse a fundamental component of article marketing

and so the ability to find good niches is what separates a successful marketer from a mediocre one. Here are 3 important steps that you should take to find good niches and to make sure the niches you promote get listed in the search engines:

Step 1: Good Niches Means Understanding Consumer Before Product

Most people tend to think of a product to promote first and then worry about what the market is and how they are going to pitch their promotions. I don't believe this is an effective way of finding good niches because if you think about the product first and the consumer after, you are really putting the cart before the horse: you are addressing the 'what' before the 'why'. First you must understand WHY a consumer wants somethings and then worry about a product to promote.

I find one effective way of doing this is to think about the burning questions that you imagine consumers ask themselves on a daily basis. What is a burning question? a burning question is a question that a consumer asks when he is serious about buying something. Let's illustrate by way of examples in, say, the weight loss industry. An example of a non-burning question a consumer would ask in this industry would be 'How do I lose weight?'. This person may be serious about losing weight, but he is NOT ready to BUY something. He is still shopping around and doesn't yet have a clue what he wants.

Now, an example of a burning question would be: "How do I lose weight before my wedding?" This person is ready to buy something right away and if you are the first to catch him by targeting this niche you will make the sale! So, when looking for good niches always consider the burning questions and only worry about WHAT you are going to sell once you understand WHO wants it.

Step 2: Do Your Keyword Research

I cannot stress enough how important it is to do proper keyword research when finding good niches. The reasons are obvious because, if you think about it, your keyword IS your niche! Your niche is what you focus your campaigns on and, whether it be PPC or article marketing makes no difference, the niche is nothing more than a group of words that people are typing in google, right? So remember, good niches = good keywords. Good news is that when it comes to keyword research, there is such a thing as a free lunch. Good old Google has a free keyword research tool which is indispensable to article marketers because it's great for finding good niches.

Use this tool as it's probably the best one out there. Anyway, what we are looking for here are keywords that are preferably below 5000 hits a month and have low competition. Anything higher than 5000 and you will probably have too much competition! It doesn't take long to find really good niches using this tool - if you can find keywords with NO competition you're in the money because there's a good chance your promotions will get onto the first results page of google over night! And you know what that means - yes, you're going to make a LOT of safe money online.

Step 3: Write, Write and Write Some More

Now that you've found a good niche you need to write articles which target your chosen keywords. The optimal keyword density you should aim for with each article is between 2-4%. This will get you recognised by google but you don't want to go much higher than this otherwise you risk getting labelled by google as spam!

Now, I'm going to give you the best article writing advice I have ever received. WRITE LOTS. Write 4 articles a day if you can! The more articles you have out there the more traffic you will get so keep writing. Make sure each article has unique content though. Google doesn't like duplicates so if you are trying to get listed in the searrch results don't submit the same article to different directories.

There are thousands of article directories but a few of the best ones are squidoo.com, ezinearticles.com and articlebase.com. If you submit to these directories you will have a good chance of getting listed on the first results page of google, provided you write about good niches!

I hope you enjoyed this article and wish you the best of luck finding good niches.
