Finding Out Who Your Real Father Is

Every year hundreds of people all over are left without knowing who their fathers are or where they may have run off to

. For some children this occurs when they are born, before they are old enough to understand it. For other children, they are old enough to remember and it can be a hurtful situation. With so many of these children left without as much as an idea, there have been recent pushes to include a DNA paternity test at some point in their life. DNA paternity labs can determine a biological father's blood sample to a child's blood sample and provide a correct or incorrect match.

Many children who are adopted do not know who either of their parents are. More frequently, there have been more children who know their mothers only and never meet their biological fathers. Although it can also go vice versa, it is more common that children are left without their fathers, more often. Children without a father feel deserted, lost, confused, and are left without an answer in many cases. While many mothers do not allow their children to visit their fathers, many children arrange to meet their parents once they turn the age of an adult. The most difficult part is finding them.

Once a child has located a parent, it is important to understand the difficulties of catching up with a lost parent. You never know what the reaction may be and it can be scary trying to approach someone who you have a supposed strong relationship with. Once involved in this situation, it can also be kind of difficult to force someone to get a paternity test, but if they politely agree then you should be okay. You cannot get a police warrant for a paternity test either, so you are kind of on your own. Getting the paternity test would be most beneficial though, and the results would be exact.

People are, for the most part, not so familiar with paternity tests, but many have seen them on reality family intervention television shows, or in the media in general. Though, those shows make the tests seem much more dramatic, they are very simple. All that is tested is either blood samples of the potential father and child. Then the samples are sent off to the lab for extensive DNA testing and a few days later, you will receive the outcome. Sometimes these results can be life changing and so this can sometimes be an emotional period.

A child who finally gets the opportunity to meet a long lost parent is a beautiful thing and so everything should be done to make sure that they know who that person is. Whether they have left willingly or involuntarily is not the matter. The important part is making a child feel secure and at one with themselves. A child who does not know who they are or where they are from creates a bad situation, so, reuniting them with family members can be one of the best possible solutions for this type of family issue.
