This card is accepted by most forms of public transit and can be topped up at any time. The Octopus Card is even an accepted form of payment at many vending machines, roadside parking, convenience stores and most restaurant chains such as McDonald's. A basic Octopus Card costs $150, with the maximum value capped at $1000.
