First Day Of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Training

When you first start out in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

, you may be very nervous to find out how your training will go the first day. Be sure that you have bought your first Bjj Gi before you go to your first class. On your first Bjj Gi you should not spend a penny over $100 for this because there are many quality Bjj Kimonos at a very affordable price. The higher priced ones are just priced higher because of their brands. I would also recommend you wear a rash guard your first day as well under your Jiu Jitsu Gi. Be sure to have your white bjj belts on as well.

Now that you got your Jiu Jitsu gear ready to go you may be nervous about others hurting your or acting tough. Well let me assure you Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is different than boxing or other martial arts because Bjj is a very humble sport. You will quickly notice on your first day of training that no one is there to hurt you or act tough but rather people will be helping you learn your basic moves. The more you train in the same place you will notice you will develop many long term friendships as well. Also never in a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament has there been a fight that has broken out where people actually fight to hurt each other. So no need to be afraid of training. Many people also think on their first day that they have to try really hard and use all of their energy to beat their opponent. What I recommend again would be to not use to much energy or force but just simply try to practice the basic techniques they teach you the first day such as the hip escape. Dont worry at all if someone taps you out and dont worry too much about how many people you can tap out. Jiu Jitsu is a humble sport. As you progress with your Bjj belts you will become more aware of the sport. Again, on your first day be sure to not stress too much on what other people do and please do not bring your ego to the Bjj mat. It will just piss people off and cause people to hate you in the academy and Im sure you dont want these trained martial artist disliking you. So be humble, go to learn and make friends. Be sure to keep consistent as consistency is the key when it comes to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Training.
