Five things to make your hair salon stand out

Whether you're just starting out in the hairdressing business or you feel your current

premises aren't making a good enough impression, finding the right products, supplies, equipment and furniture are all important. Here's our list of five things to consider.

1) You'll need great salon furniture to make a good impression on your clients and, indeed, anyone who walks past the window. As well as looking the part, you'll also want them to provide optimum comfort, especially if the customer is going to be sitting in a chair for a long period of time. Don't stop at the stylist and wash basin chairs, though. Also think about the waiting and reception area, so people enjoy their entire experience in your salon.

2) If you're planning on offering hair removal treatments, then you'll need to have the right equipment and products. Talk to prospective and existing customers to find out what they're looking for and do your homework about the products in the market. Your clients are putting a lot of trust in you, so it's important to get in right first time.

3) If massages or any other beauty treatments are part of your offering, then comfort is of paramount importance. Adjustable couch, chairs or stools could be well worth investing in to make your clients feel relaxed during their time in the salon.

4) While your styling abilities and the surroundings will work wonders for making a good impression, you won't want to be let down with your supplies and products. From skincare products and treatments to shampoos and conditioners, make sure you're talent is being done justice by the products you buy.

5) While it may not seem overly important, don't skimp when it comes to buying quality towels. You want towels that will stand up to repeat washes and feel good to the customers. Think soft!

Now you know what you need, from salon furniture to beauty supplies, why not draw up a list of everything you require and start searching for the best products in the market?
