The Arizona flag is one of many state flags that are attached to flag poles around buildings and non-building type constructions in our times. The United States alone, counts 50 different state flags that are relatively young in comparison to flags of different countries.

Interestingly, the flag of Arizona has been around for about 100 years and displays 13 sun-rays that are red and yellow. These rays represent the beautiful sunsets that Arizona enjoys. A copper star is displayed in the middle of the flag, symbolizing the mining industry in this respective State. The lower half of the flag is colored dark blue and represents liberty for Arizona.

The height of the Arizona state flag is 2 units high whereas the width is 3. As mentioned above, this banner displays thirteen rays on the top half of the flag with each ray having an equal segment. From left to right, the colors red alternate with yellow (or gold) all across until the rays are complete. In comparison to the flag, the copper star is 1 unit in height.

Ever since its adoption back in 1917, the flag has been flown from residential and commercial type flag poles throughout the State of Arizona as well as the United States of America. The then ruling Governor (Campbell) never officially signed the endorsement that officially brought his flag into existence.
