, a kit is usually included. This kit is defined as a "flagpole kit" and commonly will include snaphooks and covers, (waterproof) halyard, flag pole ball, foundation sleeve and a few other parts, along with your flagpole shaft.

Gold ball ornaments and flash collars are bright finishing pieces to flag poles. Some people choose to substitute the anodized gold ball for metal eagle that is finished with shiny gold plating. During the last decades the internal halyard has made its introduction. This system is offered with the Colonial V-Cleat, cam cleat and winch with removable flag pole handle. The patented V-Cleat is the latest in halyard technology.

Like any other construction, flag poles also require a solid footing or foundation. That which is defined as a "ground sleeve" is what is used to achieve a solid foundation for flag poles. These sleeves are produced from galvanized metal and PVC. Galvanized metal is applied for poles reaching 20 ft and higher where PVC is commonly used for smaller sized poles. Different rules apply to the different sizes. As mentioned above, a ground sleeve is included in the flagpole kit.
