Flat Beds On Planes Are Terrible

Flat beds on planes are an incredibly expensive option when you fly

. They are not even very comfortable and anyone can sleep in a sat-upright position if they need to.

Of all the creature comforts, flat beds on planes are perhaps the least necessary. Why on earth when on flights from Miami to Toronto would people pay an extra few thousand dollars in order to be able to sleep on a plane? It's very confusing to me. I've always been able to sleep on a plane. All I do is put my ear plugs in, and wrap myself in a blanket. By also carrying and eye mask to make it pitch black I'm able to fall asleep very swiftly.

It seems to be a marketing gimmick really. Business men especially seem to be falling for the trick. They have a hotel waiting for them at both ends of the airport. Why would they also want to sleep on a plane, especially when it's daytime, when they could be getting on with some important work or being entertained by the in flight entertainment system. I honestly don't think that flights from Rochester to Atlanta will have flat-beds any time soon. I more than welcome seats that be titled back very far, especially when it don't reduce the comfort of the person sat behind you, but flat beds are too much.

They are too expensive, and completely unnecessary. Anyone taking flights from Raleigh to Miami would be crazy to lower their seat into a flat bed position and expect to get a good few hours sleep. With people moving around the plane so much, you'd be better served simply sitting upright, eating a meal, watching a movie and then departing then falling asleep during the day and expecting that you'll wake up fresh and ready to go.
