Flip Down Monitors - In-car Movie Theater

Headrest monitors are great because you can buy a pair and replace both of your factory headrests

. There is two ways to display video on these types of monitors.

Without DVD Players: In this case you would have to connect them to a video source (video receiver). They will only display what the video source is playing.

If you're on a budget, you can buy them without disc players, but you will need them to be connected to your in-dash DVD player to display any video. And, each will display the same video.

Overhead monitors are tucked up and away while not in-use. These types of car monitors are mounted on the ceiling. When not in-use it is almost like it is not there. You can get a color to match the interior.

The larger the monitor, the easier it is to view. You really only need one overhead monitor to entertain all of the rear passengers. With an up close view, it'd be similar to watching a smaller TV at home.

You can also purchase car video overhead monitors with a built-in disc player. This will increase the price anywhere from 50 to 100 dollars or more.

Car DVD players are of course the nicest monitors you can have in your vehicle. At the same time, they are also the most expensive. There is two different types of these units available.

Single Din: A single car video player will have a 6-7 inch flip out screen. When not in use it will actually look like a standard CD player. This is a good thing for security.

If you have a larger opening, you'll need a double din car DVD player. These do not have a motorized screen, rather a stationary monitor that's viewable at all times.

If you have the option of having either or, remember that one is not really better than the other. Each will most likely do the same things. They will also cost around the same, too.
