City Palace:

It is a beautiful palace which was built between 1729 - 32 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber. This is an intricate and fascinating five storied faade which was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. This palace is famous for its 953 rows of small windows and screens popularly known as Jharokhas', decorated with tiny latticework. Wind used to flow through these openings which given its name as Palace of Winds' or Palace of the Breeze'. This beautiful palace was built for the women of royal families to see street processions without being seen to outside world.
