Picking where to ideally place the shed is vital to carry out the shed plan effectively and below are four guidelines that you can easily follow.

*Building the shed in an area where water has the tendency to pool like that at the bottom of a hill and other such low areas is not advisable. If there is constant moisture where the shed is located, it can destroy the wood, make it rot and also influence the paint job later on. The chance of mildew formation on the tools and other items being kept inside the shed.

*There are backyards where you want to build your shed that maybe sloped or slanting and if this the case, you have to be sure the front door of your shed building must be placed on the highest level. The ground will therefore slant away towards the back. By doing this, you have no problems with entry and certainly no worries with dampness.

*Building the shed on the farthest part of your yard is not recommended. Initially, you might consider this is the right area for a shed as it is somewhat hidden but it may prove inconvenient when you trudge to and from each time you have to get and carry heavy equipments or tools across the yard. With a closer and more convenient location, when you are finished for the day and feel so tired, it's easy to store tools back to their right place in the shed.

*Do not construct the shed where there is very little sunlight, with good and proper ventilation. By keeping the shed exposed to some natural sunlight and wind, it is more likely to remain dry and this will prevent mold and mildew.

Just these four tips alone will save you from problems later with your shed building.
