That's right you can use corn cobs for hookah shisha charcoals. It's quite a process but for the hookah enthusiast making your own shisha charcoals from simply the remains of your dinner is quite an enjoyment and should be attempted at least once!

You could buy shisha coal for an easy option or get some corn cobs, eat all the corn then use them as your coal for shisha! Once you have removed the corn kernels, leave the remaining inner cob to dry, ideally leave it in the sun for several days if not longer to make sure its 100% dried out! This can be difficult in the UK with the winter and rain so you can always oven dry cobs but be warned it takes time and you do not want to use heat in excess of 60 C, sun dried cobs always provide the best results and best shisha charcoal.

Once you have your dried corn cobs it's time to ignite them. For this using a gas stove or BBQ is best, ignite the cobs in a shisha charcoal pan once they have completely ignited and smouldering while glowing red hot you shall easily be able to break them into smaller shisha coal pieces using hookah charcoal tongs or something similar.

Once you have broken up the cobs use your shisha charcoal tongs and manoeuvre your shisha coal from the stove on to the top of your shisha bowl.

The hookah charcoal made from corn cobs provides excellent heat for as long as any other natural hookah charcoal on the market. So it's time to sit back, relax, smoke hookah and enjoy this natural and completely free shisha charcoal alternative.
